A Little About Me
Hello! I'm Ling Yi, a Year 2 design student, majoring in visual communication at Republic Polytechnic.
I'm someone who has an open mind to experience new things and meeting new people. I'd describe myself as someone who is easygoing, observant, and enjoy coming up with new ideas. During my free time, I love to explore interesting things that contributes to my idea of thoughts.
My top three values are care, respect, and loyalty. I believe in treating others with kindness, understanding their point of view and being there for the people needed. Outside of school, I enjoy trying new food, painting, and designing clothes digitally. It allows me to explore new style and understand myself better.
Studying design has helped me discover that I enjoy exploring brand identities, media design, and communication. To me, it is not just shapes and patterns, it’s expression of ideas, connections, and understanding perceptions. Through my school journey, I’ve become more confident, open-minded, and curious about what I can create next.

Involved in planning and running Republic Polytechnic STA Club's Student Leader Training 2026. Helped to plan and coordinate activities, creating a fun environment for club members
Pulau Ubin Clean-Up
Took part in community clean-up at Pulau Ubin, worked with others to collect and sort waste, keeping a clean environment.
After Rain We Breathe
Captured photos and videos during rehearsals and performances, edited promotional content for production team, gained marketing skills experience and sportsmanship.
National School Game Archery
Involved in National School Game Archery 2024. This process gave me the opportunity to discipline, focus, and challenge myself.
Camp Resilience Leader 2024
Led and supported secondary 2 students through activities, building sportsmanship, and overcame challenges.
Camp Resilience Logistic 2023
Supported the camp by coordinating logistics, setting up equipment, and supported secondary 2 students with their camp journey.

Prepared and served drinks while managing customer's orders and payments. Worked closely with teammates to keep daily operations running smoothly, provide good customer service and handled tasks efficiently during busy periods.
Bliss Garden Singapore Expo
Assisted in banquet events by serving guests and setting up the venue. Worked efficiently with team members during large events. Adapted quickly to different event setups and customer needs.
